You Helped Us Save Christmas 2022!

Christmas 2022 was a truly epic season for our team here at Fostering Christmas!

Last year, our work started long before the holidays. When several organizations around the Treasure Valley stepped back from providing gifts for Idaho foster kids, it broke our hearts — so we rushed forward to fill the gap!

Expanding Our Reach

With help from our outstanding team of volunteers, donors, and community partners (thank you, Simplot!), we saved

Christmas for 277 kids who entered the Idaho foster care system after Thanksgiving.

For the first time ever, we also sent gifts to Ada and Canyon county kids in temporary foster care outside of the Treasure Valley! Our busy elves shipped or hand-delivered boxes to foster homes in Lewiston, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Falls, and Chubbuck. We even sent Christmas cheer to Idaho kids as far away as Utah and Missouri!

We couldn’t have done Christmas 2022 without incredible donors like you. The outpouring of support from our community was enormous! Friends and neighbors showered our office with Christmas spirit, donating an unprecedented number of gifts above and beyond what the foster children wished for.

Delivering Christmas Cheer

In 2022, Fostering Christmas:

  • Saved Christmas 2022 for 277 Ada and Canyon county foster kids. That’s only 12 kids shy of our all-time record.

  • Delivered 2,553 gifts — more than 9 gifts per child!

  • Distributed over $8,300 in gift cards to help foster kids purchase the clothes, toys, scooters, and stuffed animals of their dreams.

That’s not all! Even after fulfilling the wishes of every child, our gift warehouse is still full. Generous donations poured in even after every wish list was claimed.

Thanks to those wonderful donors, we already have a head start on Christmas 2023. It may just be our biggest year yet! To learn about our year-round efforts and support Fostering Christmas through another season of giving, visit our “Get Involved” page or follow us on Facebook.
